Has the appeal of the reality. When I looked at it first, I thought it lacked the definition of some other art and maybe could do with some more but then I looked again. This is not staged, not that staging is a bad thing but with this kind of rendition, reality must be absolute. Target area leaves are in focus as is the monk - nice, but the background, place of departing (History) is past and now out of focus. I really like that, especially as the foliage on the other side of the foreground, (Not really the point of focus) is also out of focus but to a lesser degree. I hope it is fair to say that even a Buddhist could observe this picture of "Passive Intent" that is in accord with the surroundings and adds to the general appeal.
It bothers me too. In Laos, as in many Asian countries, rubbish is everywhere. It seems as if they just don't understand that it not good for the environment. The road was littered with rubbish on either side. I was considering shopping it out, but I feel that an honest picture is better than a pretty one. But yeah, thanks !
